At any given time, Schlessinger MD Skin Research Center may be performing up to 25 clinical research trials. This degree of clinical research is unparalleled in clinical practice. In fact, Dr. Schlessinger and Schlessinger MD Skin Research Center conduct more dermatology clinical trials than Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Dermatology departments combined. Abdominal Fat Reduction – Enrolling Fall 2026
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
Actinic Keratosis
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Actinic Keratosis lesions present on forearms (posterior)
Adult Severe Alopecia – Enrolling Soon
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Adults
Alopecia Areata – 3 open studies
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Adolescent Study: Ages 12 -18 years
- Pediatric Study: Ages 6 -11 years
- All studies require participants to have suffered 50%, or more, hair loss
- Patchy alopecia symptoms, may qualify
Androgenetic Alopecia
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Females only
- Post Menopausal age 51 years or older
Atopic Dermatitis
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Pediatric study: Ages 2 – 11 years
- Adult study: Age 12 years or older
- Have mild, moderate or severe Atopic Dermatitis
Common Warts – Enrolling Soon

Glabellar Lines/Wrinkles – Enrolling in March

- Age 19 years or older
- Moderate to severe glabellar lines between the brows
Hidradenitis Suppurativa
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Age 12 years or older
- Have moderate to severe symptoms or lesions present for greater than 12 months
Lichen Planus – Enrolling Spring 2026
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
Prurigo Nodularis – Enrolling Soon
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- 19 and older male/female
- At least 20 Prurigo Nodularis nodules
- Severe itch with lesions
Psoriasis
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Adult Studies: Age 19 years or older
- Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis symptoms
Vitiligo – Enrolling Soon
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION
- Male or Female
- Adult Study: Age 19 years or older
- Pediatric Study: Ages 2 -11 years
- Non-segmental vitiligo on the face and body
