350+ Clinical trials

Always advancing the field.

Together, they have been published over 100 times in peer-reviewed journals. There are no other dermatologists in Omaha who can say the same.

Over 150,000 individual patients over 36 years

A foundation in medicine.

While our practice is widely recognized for cosmetic procedures, medical dermatology remains integral to what we do. This strong foundation in medical dermatology ensures that every treatment recommendation is grounded in clinical expertise and focused on your overall skin health.

Many practices deliver either medical or cosmetic care, but we embrace the fact that we are first and foremost dermatologists, even though cosmetics are a large part of our practice. Without this rock-solid attention to the understanding and treatment of skin conditions (as is common in many non-dermatologist practices), cosmetic treatments can often go awry.

Aesthetic injections

Personally, by the doctors.

One unique feature of our practice is that all neurotoxin/Botox and filler injections are only ever personally performed by Drs. Joel and Daniel Schlessinger. We do this to ensure all patients receive the highest level of skill and expertise for their facial rejuvenating treatments, including BOTOX and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

We recommend scheduling an appointment if you notice any new, changing or concerning spots on your skin, experience persistent rashes or itching, have acne that isn’t responding to over-the-counter treatments, or need an annual skin cancer screening. Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t seem right, it’s worth having evaluated by a licensed, board-certified dermatologist.

Most adults should have a full-body skin check annually. If you have a personal or family history of skin cancer, numerous atypical moles, significant sun damage or a family history of melanoma, your dermatologist may recommend more frequent screenings every 3–6 months.

Dermatologists are medical doctors who completed four years of medical school and additional medical training during several years of a dermatology residency. They can diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, perform surgery and conduct biopsies. Aestheticians provide cosmetic skin care services but are not licensed or trained to diagnose medical conditions or prescribe treatments. We are proud to have three full-time aestheticians on staff who work hand-in-hand with our team of physicians and physician-assistants.

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans for medical dermatology services. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify your specific benefits. Our staff can help answer insurance questions when you schedule your appointment.

Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, a list of current medications and any relevant medical records. If you’re concerned about a specific spot or rash, avoid covering it with makeup so your dermatologist can examine it thoroughly.

Absolutely! Photos showing how your condition has changed over time, or of areas that are difficult to see (such as your scalp or back), can be very helpful for diagnosis and treatment planning.
